*B Longman's Barons Chancellor

On the weekend of September 30, 2006, somehow, Chancellor was poisoned and eventually died. The vet was there for the "illness". He posted Chance and found him to be a very healthy buck. He checked Chance's pen and found it to be a sound pen with nothing harmful. Chance's penmate also began to get sick the day Chance was dying. The vet checked him and found him to be the healthiest sick goat he has seen. He heavily suspected a malicious-type poison, so I began Activated Charcoal for Germs. A week later Germs is now 100%. For some reason Chance, though was harmed. It was a very sad day for Endless Prairie and also for Longman's. We lost an exceptional buck. Betty told us when we purchased him he was as perfect as you can get. She wasn't joking! We hope he will live on in his daughters. Thank God we have Charm, Summer and Moriah. We also kept Moriah's brother - Barney. Barney will take on his father's breeding schedule this year - hopefully. Apache will fill in for Chance with Galadriel this year. We are very sad and below is the original write-up we made for Chance. We are keeping it here as a memorial of him. Below are pictures of all his kids. The only kid of his we do not have is Endless Prairie Don Marquis. He is with Anna Cunningham in Maine. He will be servicing her herd, hopefully, for years to come. Donnie is a beautiful and correct white buck. He is stunning.

Chancellor is an up and coming buck - in our opinion. We feel that as his daughters grow and mature, he will follow in his cousin Apache's hoofprints. We are keeping our kids dry this year, so it won't be till next year's breeding season that we will get to see his daughters' udders. We feel confident though that they will meet and exceed our expectations. He scored very
high in his appraisal this year. As a yearling buck, he received an 85 VVA. Thank you again Betty!
