We
hope you will enjoy looking at our herd.
We began raising goats in 1999 simply to have some goat
milk for our family. Through the guidance of our very good
friend Gene Beck, we began to raise purebred Nubians and
our children fell in love with them. Eventually, we all became
completely hooked on our four-legged family members.
We had a very short 2006 and 2007 show season. It was not what any
of us wanted but due to things out of our control, we showed
our goats only twice. We had excellent showings though with
each show. Our SG Hyland's Lady Galadriel took Reserve Grand
Champ at the NEODGA show and our *B Longman's Apache
Warpaint took Reserve Sr. Grand Champ in the same show. We
are really THRILLED to see what our breeding program has
accomplished!!!!! Our
second show was also a District IV INBA
Nubian Specialty Show. Our SG Hyland's Galiano took Produce of
Dam with Galadriel and Angelina, she took 3rd place Dam and
Daughter with Galadriel. Our Longman's Apache Warpaint took
Junior Get of Sire at the show with our Pocahontas, Guadalupe
and Jitterbug. Jitterbug also placed 1st in her class of many at
that show as well.
We also had our Hylands Medallion take Reserve Champ at the only show we showed at in 2007.
We have participated in Linear appraisal in 2006 and were completely thrilled at how our herd appraised. Our oldest doe 8 year old SG Telstar Farms Reflection *M earned a 90 VEEE this year! Way to go! Reflection is such a strong beauty! She also is a Crown Excess Granddaughter. Our SG Hylands Galiano has blossomed like we never thought she could! After being fresh ONLY 13 hours she appraised at an 89 +EEE!!! The + was for general appearance which is only natural after kidding! Then she was awarded the Superior Genetics award as well and we are so very thrilled. We are so thankful to Gene Beck of Hylands for breeding Galiano and letting us have not only Galiano but her doe, SG Hyland's Galadriel as well! Galiano is 7*M Saada Lemon Tart's daughter. Tart has since left all of us, but she definitely carries on through Galiano, Galadriel and our Medallion. SG Hyland's Galadriel, after taking Reserve Grand Champ in her first show this year, appraised at an 87 VV+V as a two-year old. *B Longman's Baron's Chancellor appraised as a yearling buck at an 85 VVA and Hylands Medallion scored an 87 VEV as a two-year old. *B Longman's Apache Warpaint scored an 84 +VA. All our young stock was appraised and they all did extremely well, with Jitterbug being the best of all.
Unfortunately,
we were unable to participate in milk testing this
year. We hope to be able to be a part of that next year.
We are beginning our fifth year of breeding dairy and show animals.
